Pale Moon Version 35.0.0 Released with Security Updates

  Pale Moon has been updated to version 35.0.0.  This is a milestone update, primarily focused on web compatibility.

In addition to new features and a long list of changes/fixes, the update includes the following security fixes:

Security fixes:

• Updated the internal json viewer for better handling of resources.
• Updated NSS to 3.90.14.0 (UXP) to pick up several security fixes.
• As usual, many potential security reports/issues were examined and ported where applicable to our code.
• Security issues addressed: CVE-2026-74982, CVE-2026-74969 (DiD), CVE-2026-74977 (DiD), CVE-2026-74945, CVE-2026-74964, CVE-2026-74971, CVE-2026-74943, and several others that did not have a CVE designation at the time of evaluation.

*DiD: This means that a fix is "Defense-in-Depth": It is a fix that does not apply to a (potentially) actively exploitable vulnerability in Pale Moon, but prevents future vulnerabilities caused by the same code, e.g. when surrounding code changes, exposing the problem, or when new attack vectors are discovered.

Pale Moon includes both 32- and 64-bit versions for Windows: Pale Moon for Windows downloads.

Update: To get the update now, select "Help" from the Pale Moon menu at the upper left of the browser window.  Select About Pale Moon > Check for Updates.

The update includes 73 security updates in which 29 are rated critical, 24 rated moderate and 20 rated low. The security updates can be reviewed here.

Windows 11 25H2 and 24H2 Out-of-Band Update

 

Microsoft released Out-of-Band (OOB) update KB5129195 (OS 26200.9457 and 26100.9457) for Windows 11 versions 25H2 and 24H2 on September 14, 2026. The update includes updates from previous releases, along with additional security and non-security improvements. 

Improvements

This OOB update includes the following improvements:

• [Security] This update includes protections documented in CVE-2026-62721, which refers to a Windows User-Mode Power Service (UMPS) Elevation of Privilege vulnerability.
• [Remote Desktop Services (known issue)] Fixed: This update addresses an issue affecting Remote Desktop Services (RDS) after installing the September 2026 Windows security update (KB5122880). In affected environments, RDS might become unstable, causing RDP connection and sign-in failures or servers to become unresponsive during Remote Desktop configuration. Related tools, including Microsoft Management Console (MMC), RDS Licensing Diagnoser, File Explorer, and the Windows Update page, might also stop responding.
• [Hyper-V (known issue)] Fixed: Some applications that use HCS-managed virtual machines experienced issues when sharing host folder with Linux VMs using Plan9. Folders shared from the Windows host using Plan9 did not appear or could not be accessed in the guest environment.
• [8-channel or 3D audio modes] Fixed: Some USB Audio Class 1.0 devices functioning as expected in standard stereo configurations failed when using multichannel audio features, including 8-channel or 3D audio modes. (Note: There are other audio symptoms not resolved in this OOB update. See the “Known issues in this update” section for more information.)

Windows 11 servicing stack update (KB5124007) - 22621.9441
This update makes quality improvements to the servicing stack, which is the component that installs Windows updates. Servicing stack updates (SSU) ensure that you have a robust and reliable servicing stack so that your devices can receive and install Microsoft updates. Known issues in this update

USB Audio Class 1.0 devices with error Code 10 or no output

Symptoms -- After installing the September 8, 2026, Windows security update, some USB Audio Class 1.0 devices might fail to start or produce audio. Affected devices might experience one or more of the following symptoms:

• The device displays an error in Device Manager: "This device cannot start (Code 10).”
• No audio output.
• Volume controls are unresponsive or remain at zero.
• Sound settings are unresponsive or unavailable.

This issue is limited to USB Audio Class 1.0 devices.

Resolution
Microsoft is working on a resolution and will update this documentation when more information is available.

Microsoft September 2026 Security Updates

 

The Microsoft September 2026 security updates have been released and consist of 997 updates relating Microsoft, Chromium and non-Microsoft products.

Of the Microsoft CVEs released, 114 are rated Critical, 5 as low and the rest are rated Important in severity. 

At the time of release, seven are listed as being under active attack. As Indicated Dustin Childs below-linked post, 20 different patches could all be classified as wormable. "In each of these cases, a remote, unauthenticated attacker could get arbitrary code execution on affected systems with no user interaction. While some might be more exploitable than others, having 20 of them in a single release is something else."

Pale Moon Version 34.3.2 Released with Security Updates

  Pale Moon has been updated to version 34.3.2.  This is a security and bugfix update.

Changes/Fixes:

• Implemented the URL.Parse() convenience function.
• Added multiple bounds checks on internal browser functions to avoid potential out-of-bounds accesses, underflows and overflows. (DiD)
• Fixed several issues with loading and parsing content-supplied fonts.
• Set a bottom limit on the frequency for audio samples to avoid a whole class of potential bugs surrounding audio loading, processing and playback.
  Audio formats with a sample rate below 8kHz (the commonly accepted lowest sample rate of "telephone"/"walkie-talkie" quality) are now rejected.
• Fixed a potential issue in CSS rounded corners with dotted styling.
• Image elements in forms are no longer associated if they are not in the same subtree.
• Made image animation checks more strict to avoid potential issues if decoding would be slow.
• Video region checks are now more strict to avoid issues with malformed video files.
• Updated NSS to 3.90.13.0 (UXP) addressing all applicable security issues from NSS upstream.
  
• Another large security audit of over 200 sec bugs in Mozilla land has been performed, with the vast majority not being applicable to our code base (primarily e10s/IPC bugs).
  
• Security issues addressed: CVE-2026-16353, CVE-2026-16408, CVE-2026-16389 and many others that do not have a CVE designation.

Windows 11 Out-of-Band Update for Dell Computers

  

Microsoft issued an Out-of-Band (OOB) update for Windows 11, version 25H2 and Windows 11, version 24H2 (KB5121767 (OS Builds 26200.8894 and 26100.8894). It includes all improvements from previous security and non-security updates, along with an additional fix.

The original release was paused for certain Dell devices with Intel processors due to an incompatibility reported by Dell that can potentially cause unexpected shutdowns, poor performance, increased heat, and battery drain.

This OOB update includes the following improvement:

[System Performance] This update addresses an issue affecting a limited number of devices with an Intel Innovation Platform Framework (Intel IPF) driver that could cause changes in performance, power consumption, or system behavior after installing recent Windows updates. A limited number of Dell devices that were temporarily prevented from receiving the July 2026 security update KB5101650 can now install this OOB update. This OOB update is only recommended for devices affected by this issue. If your device is not affected, no action is required.
