  Mozilla sent Firefox Version 139.0.1 to the Release Channel.

Fixed

• Fixed graphics corruption with certain NVIDIA graphics adapters and multiple monitors running at mixed refresh rates after updating to Firefox 139. (Bug 1968876)

Update: To get the update now, select "Help" from the Firefox menu, then pick "About Firefox".  Mac users need to select "About Firefox" from the Firefox menu.  For non-English versions, Fully Localized Versions are available for download.

May 2025 Windows 11 Non-Security Preview Update

 Microsoft released KB5058499 for Windows 11 23H3. 

Highlights

• Ask Copilot is a new action within Click to Do. When you highlight text or an image, Click to Do offers the Ask Copilot option. Selecting it opens Microsoft Copilot with your content in the prompt box.
• You can open Copilot on Windows with Win + C. You can personalize your Copilot key and Win + C experience at any time with the existing “Customize Copilot key on keyboard” under Settings > Personalization > Text input.
• Find answers to commonly asked questions about your PC and Windows 11 in the new FAQs section under Settings > System > About page.
• Mouse settings are now easier to access under Settings > Accessibility > Mouse and Mouse pointer and touch, with no need to open Control Panel. 
• Seamlessly resume working on OneDrive files from your phone (iOS and Android) on your Windows 11 PC with a single click. With this feature, you’ll get a notification asking if you want to pick up where you left off editing a OneDrive file, like a Word document, that you viewed or edited on your phone within the last 5 minutes before unlocking your PC.

May 2025 Windows 10 Non-Security Preview Update

 Microsoft released KB5058481 for Windows 10 version 22H2 optional non-security release preview (Windows monthly updates explained).

Highlights

[Calendar flyout]

• Brings back the clock view that displays seconds onto the calendar that was once removed.
• Enhances the Rich Calendar feature by extending the upcoming events period to 30 days.
• Adds description text for the Weather button in the Rich Calendar feature.

Improvements

Important: Use EKB KB5015684 to update to Windows 10, version 22H2.

[GDI/GDI+]

• Fixed: Some GB18030-2022 characters in plane 2 are not rendered.
• Fixed: Some GB18030 characters are rendered wider. Additionally, the sample paragraph is not rendered correctly.

[Mobile Operator Profiles]

• Updated: Country and Operator Settings Asset (COSA) profiles are updated.​​​​​​​

[WinSaS]

• Fixed: An issue affecting the Windows Account Sync Consent system in European Economic Area markets, where secondary accounts were not acknowledged, leading to increased server load.

Mozilla Firefox Version 139.0 Released with Security Updates

 Mozilla sent Firefox Version 138.0 to the release channel.  

The update includes eleven security updates of which one (1) is rated critical, six (6) are rated moderate, and three (3) are rated low. The security updates can be reviewed here.

    Mozilla sent Firefox Version 138.0.4 to the Release Channel with two critical security updates.

Fixed

• #CVE-2025-4920: Out-of-bounds access when resolving Promise objects
• #CVE-2025-4921: Out-of-bounds access when optimizing linear sums

Microsoft May 2025 Security Updates

 

The Microsoft May 2025 security updates have been released and consist of 75 new CVEs to Microsoft products. The additional third-party CVEs bring the combined total to 134 CVEs and 9 non-Microsoft CVEs.

Of the Microsoft CVEs released, 12 are rated critical and the rest are rated important in security. At the time of release, two are listed as being publicly known and five under active attack.

The security updates apply to the following products, features and roles: Windows and Windows Components, Office and Office Components, .NET and Visual Studio, Azure, Nuance PowerScribe, Remote Desktop Gateway Service, and Microsoft Defender.

Mozilla Firefox Version 138.0.3 Released with Updates

   Mozilla sent Firefox Version 138.0.3 to the Release Channel.

Fixed

• Fixed a crash that could occur when viewing websites that use WebGL. (Bug 1961191)
• Fixed an issue where the browser could repeatedly crash when certain SVG effects (like blur or drop shadow) were applied to very small areas. (Bug 1924241)
• On Linux, fixed an issue where video playback would appear washed-out on Wayland when HDR support was unavailable. (Bug 1961610)
• Fixed an issue where the "Match Case" shortcut Alt+C in the find-in-page toolbar did not toggle the checkbox as expected. (Bug 1952611)

Pale Moon Version 33.7.1 Released with Security Update

  Pale Moon has been updated to version 33.7.1.  This is a bugfix and security update.

Changes/fixes:

• Fixed a crash dealing with BigInt in Javascript compilation.
• Updated NSS to 3.90.7 to pick up a security fix.
• Updated devtools to escape some more characters in "Copy as cURL" on POSIX operating systems. (*DiD).

Notes:  *DiD This means that a fix is "Defense-in-Depth": It is a fix that does not apply to a (potentially) actively exploitable vulnerability in Pale Moon, but prevents future vulnerabilities caused by the same code, e.g. when surrounding code changes, exposing the problem, or when new attack vectors are discovered.

Pale Moon includes both 32- and 64-bit versions for Windows: Pale Moon for Windows downloads.

Update: To get the update now, select "Help" from the Pale Moon menu at the upper left of the browser window.  Select About Pale Moon > Check for Updates.
