Zune or iPod; iPod or Zune?

The question of the day appears to be which of the two portable devices to add to the Holiday Wish List -- the new Microsoft Zune or Apple's iPod. There is an intresting contrast of opinions between two ZD Net Bloggers, Matthew Miller and Adrian Kingsley-Hughes.

In 3 weeks later and the Zune is better than the iPod, Matthew Miller describes his reasons for prefering Zune, which include the unlimited music subscription, FM reception and the ability to watch video. The durability and scratch resistance of Zune are also features Mr. Miller prefers.

Conversely, Adrian Kingsley-Hughes explains Why there’s an iPod nano on my wish list - and not a Zune! Mr. Kingsley-Hughes places the "blame" in several directions on why he has finally broken down and added an iPod to his wish list. The apparent support of his iPod readers is certainly one reason. Another reason is Zune's compatibility with Audible.com audio books.

If you are in the market for either, you should find both authors reviews worth considering. The things that make the Zune more attractive to Mr. Miller sound like a good fit for me also. Although, in the event I am on your Christmas list, either one would likely suit me just fine.
